Welcome!

You've found A Fistful of Pasta, a (sometimes irreverent) look at the genre films known as Spaghetti Westerns, or Eurowesterns.

There were over 500 westerns made in Europe between 1965 and 1975. Some were serious artistic achievements in filmmaking, completely redefining the western film genre, and elevating it to an art form. Others were simply B-movies of varying quality, and in some cases, worse. And for better or worse, we love them all (well, most of 'em, anyways), and if you're still reading this, you probably do, too.

If you have any questions, suggestions, corrections, or see something that doesn't look right, please drop us a line at the contact page. We'd love to hear from you.

For every last thing you'd ever want to know about these films, the best place on the web is The Spaghetti Western Database. If you haven't been there yet, you're missing out on a great resource for these films.

What's New - updated Nov. 17th, 2008

Scherp has a review of It Can Be Done, Amigo!

In other news...

We've gone ahead and added another playlist (#3) to the jukebox, which you can access by clicking on the banner to your right. Some of the new songs include Stelviani's theme from Blindman, Morricone's theme from And For a Roof, A Sky Full of Stars, and several other great tunes, such as You'd Better Smile, the theme song from Viva Django.. It's designed to open up in another window, so you can listen to the music while you surf the net. If it doesn't open up for you, make sure your browser and firewall aren't blocking pop-ups.

There's now several hours of music on the jukebox. If you plan on listening for a few hours, I suggest that you click on the "Click to Play Everything" playlist. Enjoy. I have it configured so you need to click the "play" button after selecting your playlist.

Satty's contest for western movie reviews at Most Wanted Western Movies has ended, and the winners have been announced, which you can see here. Our very own Scherpschutter was one of the winners (1st prize!), with his review of The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, which you can read here. Congratulations to all of the winners!

And once again, we're always looking for good writers of anything related to the genre, so if your're interested, click on the Django in the sidebar.
